Welcome to C-CAP!
I am deeply proud to showcase our work over the past 20 years and, most important, our extraordinary alumni. Those featured in the 20th Anniversary publication and here represent the thousands of students C-CAP has nurtured.
When I founded C-CAP in 1990, I was motivated by high unemployment among urban youth. I knew there was always a place in the culinary field for diverse young people with passion and the capacity for hard work. As in any industry, education is key. Yet many urban high schools lack the means to provide quality culinary arts programs. Many teens who find their calling in the kitchen cannot afford college-level training.
From the beginning, C-CAP has addressed both needs. Our curriculum enrichment strategies and our internship and scholarship opportunities can make a lasting difference in a promising student’s life. For evidence, read the “Profiles of Success” and meet a sampling of C-CAP alumni with remarkable achievements.
Today a new generation of underserved youth looks for a chance at a future in the culinary arts. C-CAP is ready to take those with talent and tenacity as far as they can go. We welcome your support along the way.
