Hannah Hill

C-CAP Chicago Alum Spotlight

Hannah Hill has a long history with C-CAP. She began her journey by participating in our program through After School Matters at her high school, Simeon Career Academy. Hannah always had a passion for cooking which naturally meant she participated in the C-CAP Junior Preliminary Competition in 2008, where she won the opportunity to attend the Monroe College Bootcamp. That summer Hannah participated in all of the summer activities C-CAP had to offer and eventually she fell in love with Monroe College. It became her ‘goal school,’ and in 2009 Hannah competed in the C-CAP Final Cooking Competition for Scholarships and was awarded a full-tuition scholarship to attend Monroe College! Hannah graduated in 2011 and returned to Chicago to attend Roosevelt University to finish her Bachelors Degree in Hospitality Management. Through C-CAP, Hannah worked in many restaurants across the city and country (she worked seasonally at a ski resort in Wyoming, and she talks fondly of her days on the Mountain). Eventually, it was through other C-CAP Alums that Hannah found her current ‘home’ working at the Loews Hotel.

Hannah has been a judge at several C-CAP Preliminary Competitions and donated for the last two years to our Alumni Service Learning Scholarship. We’re so proud of Hannah and all of her accomplishments – we can’t wait to see where her culinary journey takes her next!
