Reporting to the Director of Special Events & Digital Fundraising, the Development & Grant Associate administers the Raiser’s Edge database and applies to grants on behalf of the organization. The position also helps execute fundraising events.


The Development Associate duties include, but may not be limited to, the following:

I. Administration of Raiser’s Edge Database

    • Plays a key role in ensuring the management and integrity of the organization’s fundraising database
    • Create and run data reports that are accurate and timely and assist in developing compelling research to help reach the strategic fundraising goals
    • Enter all development-related checks and pledges in database
    • Reconcile fundraising results with finance office records on a weekly basis
    • Assist with ongoing implementation and consistent usage of the database by all staff and troubleshoot issues
    • Research and apply for grants as they pertain to C-CAP’s fundraising goals
    • Manage the schedule of all proposal and reporting deadlines
    • Create and run all queries in the Raiser’s Edge database for all locations pertaining to student demographics and program outputs, and analyze, program evaluations to communicate trending data and impact
    • Develop donor lists, mailing lists, invitation lists, email outreach lists,

II. Events

    • Annual Benefit – Assist New York Staff and Event Consultant to execute Annual Benefit in New York, with a particular focus on the auction, that raises close to $1 million annually
    • Junior Board Fundraisers – Assist Director of Special Events & Digital Fundraising to administer 2-3 events per year
    • Assist with publishing events on WordPress for all C-CAP locations

III. Communications

    • Work with the development team on donor sections for the Annual Report

IV. Administrative

    • Answer the phone and door when Administrative Assistant is not readily available
    • Handle incoming and outgoing mail when Administrative Assistant is out of the office

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 1-2 years of successful and skilled non-profit database experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Strong volunteer management abilities
  • Strong knowledge of Raiser’s Edge and Microsoft Knowledge of WordPress and Mailchimp is a plus.
  • Proven event management execution
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be willing and able to take direction and then work independently
  • Desires creative ownership of projects
  • Flexibility and agility within a small office are essential
