CALLING C-CAP STUDENTS — ENTER NOW!

Beyond Cooking: The Ann B. Zekauskas Food Styling Competition for C-CAP is back again and now open for entries! Photograph an original healthy main-course salad that reflects your heritage and enter to win cash prizes – first prize: $2,000, second prize: $1,500, third prize: $1,000, and fourth: $500. Calling all high school seniors enrolled in the C-CAP program! Make a short video making a healthy family-favorite soup and enter by Dec 16, 2022, to win $5,000 towards higher-education expenses PLUS, a free all-expenses paid trip for you and one parent/guardian to attend the extraordinary Beaver Creek Culinary Weekend on February 2nd in Colorado and meet some of your culinary stars! Click to enter!


SHOP THIS HOLIDAY DRINK BY A C-CAP ALUM

Chef Betty Pena’s Coquito (“little coconut”) is a festive Puerto Rican drink made with coconut and spices! Traditionally sipped during Christmas and similar to eggnog, it’s delicious throughout the winter. Find Coquito and other goodies by C-CAP alumni on the C-CAP Marketplace.


NATIVE AMERICAN HISTORY MONTH WITH CHEF SEAN SHERMAN

In November we commemorated Native American Heritage Month with two recipes by the renowned Sioux Chef Sean Sherman, founder of Indigenous Food Lab, NATIFS, and the award-winning restaurant Owamni: Wild Conifer & Maple Tea and Lakota Squash with Pepita Pesto.


We’re delighted to share that C-CAP has received a Toast.org Impact Grant to help further our mission of providing underserved teens with pathways to success through culinary, job and life skills! A huge thank you to Toast Foundation for supporting C-CAP.

C-CAP Across the Country

CHEF BROTHER LUCK LENDS HIS WISDOM

Fresh off his book tour for No Lucks Given, C-CAP alum Chef Brother Luck visited the freshman class at The Academy of Hospitality and Tourism in Brooklyn. He shared his personal story and his path to success, plus a knife skills demonstration.


Philly Students Bake The Perfect Holiday Pies

C-CAP Philadelphia held its annual Take & Bake Pie Workshop at the Free Library of Philadelphia’s Culinary Literacy Center, led by C-CAP alum Kabriana Kendall. There was also a pie demo at String Theory Schools led by Chef Advisory Council member, Chef Monica Glass.
