POSITION TITLE:  Program Coordinator, NY

OBJECTIVE:

Program Coordinator will lead programming as it relates to secondary and post-secondary education awareness. The Program Coordinator works in tandem with the Career Development Coordinator (CDC) to provide C-CAP programming and advising to students and alumni, and in delivering C-CAP’s core services to participating school partners and teachers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The Program Coordinator functions include, but may not be limited to, duties such as the following:

  • Lead post-secondary awareness programming including financial aid workshops, college discovery programs, and info sessions
  • Coordinate and facilitate participating school-related programs: teacher professional development workshops, visiting chef demonstrations, and product donations
  • Coordinate with the Career Development Coordinator on facilitating the annual C-CAP Cooking Competition for Scholarships: lead financial aid workshop, conduct senior interviews, scholarship agreements, and College 101
  • Build and maintain relationships with institutional partners to develop programming
  • Work with the finance department on annual school sign-ups and invoicing
  • Prepare program materials to generate student participation in programs, such as applications, recruitment flyers, training material, and surveys
  • Send regular teacher communications that includes program information, resources, and professional development components
  • Maintain confidential and detailed records of programs including participating students, alumni, and school and industry partner records in Salesforce on a timely basis
  • Produce program reports to track outcomes and metrics, and to determine program effectiveness and necessary changes
  • Review and edit student college advising documentation. Advise on post-secondary application processes, interviewing and other related issues
  • Work closely with CDC to contribute to career to career search strategies, industry partnerships, and share information in enhancement of C-CAP career programs and services
  • Collaborate with CDC on C-CAP outreach programs such as school visits

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS: 

Knowledge:

  • Culinary/Hospitality Degree or Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1-2 years experience
  • College advisement and youth development experience preferred
  • Superior organizational and problem resolution skills; flexibility, willingness and readiness to adapt to changing circumstances; ability to balance competing demands and priorities
  • Ability to take direction, work efficiently and with integrity
  • Timely response to work priorities and be accountable for effective results
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; genuine commitment to work collaboratively on team and appreciate other’s contributions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and working with databases. Experience working with Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, Survey Monkey, Mail Chimp, and social media for business purposes needed
