- In May, C-CAP New York is hosting several virtual programs including a knife cut and chicken fabrication demo, a knife sharpening demo, a tour with Chef Rob Lawson of JF Restaurants’ new Mediterranean restaurant IRIS, and a College 101 program that covers basic college preparation.

C-CAP Philadelphia News Bites
- The C-CAP Philadelphia team is revving up students for summer job training!
- Philadelphia students at Western Montgomery Career & Technical Center have been hybrid/in-person for most of the school year and were able to take their NOCTI exam last month. We were fortunate enough to judge the seniors during the exam.
- At the beginning of April, C-CAP Philadelphia had another round of student and alumni apprentices start at the People’s Kitchen in South Philadelphia. They will work with mentor chefs for 12 weeks, feeding the Philadelphia community free, restaurant-quality meals five days a week.
- C-CAP Philadelphia started a Clothes Closet donation box program. There will be drop boxes at various locations around Philadelphia to donate new or gently used interview clothes, aprons, socks, belts, or chef coats. These donations will help us prepare our students for interviews, the industry, and beyond. Anyone interested in hosting a drop-off site should email Monica Glass (mglass@ccapinc.org).
- Current drop-off locations: South Philly Co-Op, South Philly Barbacoa, The Free Library of Philadelphia, Elwood Restaurant, and Triple Bottom Brewing.
