C-CAP Partners with NYC Mayor’s Office
C-CAP is partnering with the New York Mayor’s Office of Youth Employment Summer Enrichment Program (now that’s a mouthful!) to host a virtual panel entitled “How to Find Success in the Food Industry” on July 13th at 11 am ET.
Attended by hundreds of New York City students and moderated by C-CAP’s Executive Director Tanya Steel, these kids will learn the recipe for success from an esteemed group of renowned food executives: Dhamaka Chef Chintan Pandya, The Black Chef Movement’s Rasheeda McCallum, Crooked Hammock Brewery’s Ben Hudson, Union Square Café’s Denez Moss, Bowery Farming’s Autumn Hudson, and Seemore Meats & Veggies’ Ariel Hauptman. We’re thrilled to be partnering with the Mayor’s Office on such an important program.
MR. BAKE’S RAINBOX ICEBOX CAKE
While Pride month has officially ended, there’s a delicious way to celebrate every month, and that’s with The Rainbow Chocolate Icebox Cake by pastry chef Kareem Queeman, aka Mr. Bake. Try this recipe in your kitchen and share your version with us on social. Thank you, Mr. Bake, for all your support of C-CAP and the beautiful and delicious treats you bake up. ?️?

C-CAP Across the Country
C-CAP Heads to Houston!
We’re thrilled to announce that we will be expanding our program to schools in the Houston Metro Area. We’re currently fundraising to staff a Program Director, and Feed the Soul Foundation kicked off our new chapter with a $10,000 donation at their recent Black Restaurant Week gala.
Longtime C-CAP friend Chef Aaron Bludorn will be hosting a fundraising dinner on July 27th at his Bludorn Restaurant with Chef Serigne Mbaye, a James Beard Finalist and Chef of Dakar NOLA. Proceeds will go towards funding the Houston program. Reservations for that dinner can be made by calling 713.999.0146.
Job Training Across the Country
We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with Bimbo Bakeries USA to fund four summer job training programs, supporting hundreds of C-CAP students across the country.
These full-time programs provide culinary, baking, and hospitality training plus students will learn about resume writing, communication, and other skills crucial when entering the workforce. After completing the program, they have the chance for paid summer internships.
“As the largest commercial bakery in the United States, we are dedicated to nourishing a better world by supporting educational opportunities, like C-CAP, that promote equity and inclusion.”
— Nikki Lang, Head of Diversity, Equity & Belonging-Bimbo Bakeries USA
