About C-CAP
We partner with over 173 schools nationwide and provide hospitality/culinary education, college scholarships, and career development to thousands of deserving students. Our programs also support adults, including C-CAP alumni and teachers.
College Scholarships
We are one of America’s largest college scholarship nonprofit programs, helping students to further their education without incurring unmanageable debt. Annually, we award college scholarships to students through The C-CAP College Scholarship Cooking Competition. Students train tirelessly to prepare classic dishes that demonstrate their culinary skills and understanding of safety and sanitation.
We are so thankful for the generosity and support of our post-secondary educational partners!
Career Discovery
It’s impossible for students to know the full breadth of careers within the culinary and hospitality industry. To that end, we host career exploration events such as job shadows, chef panels and field trips so students can get a better idea of what a potential career path is like.
College Advising
Going to college can feel overwhelming, which is why C-CAP’s college advising program is critical. We work with our students to navigate the application process and incur minimal debt, teach them how to research and apply for financial aid, and guide them through graduation.
Job Training & Internships
Our Job Training and Internship Program provides intensive training in kitchen skills including knife cuts, food and equipment identification, safety and sanitation, as well as soft skills, such as communication, time management, and problem solving. Training is followed by a paid internship in a professional kitchen, where students gain critical job skills and experiences.
Apprenticeships
C-CAP is one of the few Nationally Registered Apprenticeship Intermediaries with the U.S. Department of Labor. We source, train and mentor students for one-year paid career-accelerating apprenticeships with renowned hospitality and culinary employers across the country.
Teacher Support
We support the teachers and culinary instructors at all of our partner high schools. Our goal is to deepen their skills and to encourage high-quality classroom instruction through our C-CAP’s National Teachers Conference, on-going teacher training, and classroom demonstrations. In addition, we coordinate donations from industry sponsors to supply much-needed equipment and ingredients to under-resourced classrooms.
The Career Pathways Program
This pilot program, funded by New York’s Governor Kathy Hochul, instructs work-permitted asylum seekers in New York City. We teach students the fundamentals of the foodservice industry to become a culinary professional. Students graduate with a New York City Food Handler’s License before we then place these students into cook positions in some of the city’s foremost restaurants and hotels.
